STEVE TUHOLSKI, PH.D.
Steve Tuholski is a litigation consultant and cognitive psychologist who helps trial teams understand how jurors think, evaluate evidence, and make decisions. He holds a Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from the University of South Carolina, where his peer-reviewed research focused on attention, memory, decision making, and human reasoning. Before entering the litigation consulting field in 2004, Steve was a tenured professor at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, where he taught and conducted peer-reviewed research in cognitive psychology for many years.
For more than twenty years, Steve has worked with attorneys across the country on complex civil and criminal matters. His practice focuses on applying behavioral science to case strategy, witness preparation, pre-trial research and risk analysis, jury selection, and trial presentations. He has consulted in a wide range of industries and case types, including intellectual property disputes, transportation and commercial trucking litigation, medical malpractice, product liability, construction, energy, employment, insurance coverage, catastrophic injury, and business litigation, in state and federal courts throughout the country. Steve is known for translating empirical research and mock trial data into clear, tactical guidance that trial teams can leverage in mediation and in the courtroom.
Outside of work, Steve enjoys traveling with his wife, spending time with their basset hound, reading, and watching hockey whenever he gets the chance.
