What is a Shadow Jury & Trial Monitoring?
A Shadow Jury is a group of surrogate jurors who observe trial proceedings and provide structured feedback outside the courtroom. Combined with Trial Monitoring, it allows the trial team to understand how key themes, witnesses, and exhibits are landing with lay decision-makers in real time.
We recruit participants who resemble the actual venire and guide them through daily debriefs using structured questions and rating tools. Their reactions are analyzed through a behavioral science lens to identify where the case narrative is working, where confusion is emerging, and which moments are shifting perceptions of liability or damages.
This information does not replace legal judgment, but it gives the trial team an additional, data-informed perspective to refine examinations, adjust emphasis, and address emerging vulnerabilities while there is still time to act.
